It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Only a few more days until Santa Claus comes to visit! My house smells like Christmas tree and there are decorations in every possible place.

I’m hosting the fam jam here on Christmas day for dinner. Can’t wait to have the smell of turkey cooking in the oven.

Last weekend I got a tree and decorated it and wrapped my presents and put them under. The kitten luckily doesn’t do anything bad, she just likes sitting under it, after all, she’s a present right?

I’ve also been busy in the kitchen whipping up some goodies. They’re mainly to give away…get invited to a party Ect and need to bring something. Though, I feel like I haven’t made enough. Maybe I’ll head back in there when I’m done here!

Speakinng of goodies, this time of year is all about eating and enjoying. I decided in Tuesday from the until the morning of January 1st there should be no guilt! I tried eggnog for the very first time. I’m happy to say I liked it. Didn’t have any rum, I tasted it by itself and the a coworker said to throw a splash in my coffee, that wasn’t too bed either. I also found a recipe to some fancy hot chocolates…don’t they look divine? Happy to say they are just as delicious. Except my candy cane stir stick broke and drowned amongs the Baileys and Amaretto. Good way to go I suppose.

Also so enjoyed a work potluck this week. I try not to spend too much extra time at work but there was food…so…I’m ok with that.

The other thing about this time of year? Spending time with friends! Had a nice visit with some last night, look at that holiday sangria! Totally worth the drive. And then we some how ending up curling, though my skinny jeans and heels werent really proper attire for the sport (or any sport) but we had fun!

Anyway I suppose I should get going. Have a fondue party this evening … Not too keen on going, it’s on the exact opposite of the city and I don’t know the hosts that well. But it’s an excuse to wear a Christmas jumper, have some wine and other goodies!

Time to party

Good morning! I’m super busy today, finishing up some Christmas baking and stuck a roast in the oven. Had my company Christmas party the other night and it was a good time! Took my friend as my date…which is fun because then you know you’ll have fun. And well I’m single again so I didn’t really have another option! And sorry for the blurry pictures – I only had my cellphone camera – and plus champagne.

The long process of getting ready began early.

Eesh! What a terrible photo!

After several arduous hours … I was finally lookin good enough to head out … and grab a glass (or six) of champagne!

Dinner was great, expect the back fell off my ginormous earring and I couldn’t find it so I was earring-less after that. Boo.

After dinner, it was time to party! And that we did!

We ate too much, drank too much, and danced too much. It was a good night!
Did you have a Christmas party? Hope you had a good time too!

Time to shop!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a good weekend and managed to stay warm. It was a cold one here – down into the -40’s with the wind chill! Eeek!
I can’t believe it’s already December. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Today might be a good day to start – or finish – there are a few deals to be had for ‘Cyber Monday’. We don’t usually give a lot of gifts… I mean I really have everything I *need* but it’s nice to get something you want – something you might not otherwise buy for yourself. That’s why I’m also not a big fan of giving money at Christmas because most people (like me) will probably put that in the bank and pay bills ect. and while that’s all fine and dandy – it’s also nice to get something else for you to actually enjoy. So here are some ideas to get you started….

For the ladies

Toasty Toes – Faux Shearling Reading Socks from Indigo

Faux Shearling Reading Socks — Fawn

How cozy do these look?! There is nothing better than curling up on the couch in some cozy jammies and socks, with a great big mug of hot cocoa, watching the Christmas lights twinkle. I always have cold feet so I’m in love with these. And they’re on sale today! Better hop to it!

Warm & Cozy – Dream Flannel Pajama from Victoria’s Secret

Speaking of cozy jammies… these are definitely going on my list! Love the design, instead of sugarplums dancing in my head, I’ll be dreaming of London and Paris!

Something Sparkly – Hope Egg earrings by Links of London

These are for someone VERY special as they are on the expensive side but they are timeless and will go with anything, plus who doesn’t want to have the same earrings as the lovely Kate Middleton? I’m lucky enough to say I own them and I love them. The website says they’re currently out of stock 😦 But if you’re in the market for some jewellery, take a look around the site, they have some other gorgeous things!

For the Men

Looking Hot – Extra Fine Merino Wool Pullover from Banana Republic

Lets face it – the men like to be warm too. This pullover comes in several colours so can pick which one you like best!

Soft & Sexy – The Jack Pack by Jack Black

The Jack Pack 8101

I’ve used the Jack Black lip balm in the past and some of their products smell amazing. They have some great gift sets on right now. If you have a man who works with his hands quite a bit, check out the hand healer lotions.

Test of Time – Wakefield Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch by Fossil

CH2937 - Wakefield Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch

I like a good watch and I like a good watch on a well dressed man. They say it’s bad luck to give a watch but maybe this once you can make an exception.

Here are a few for everyone else on that list …

For the fitness fanatic  – Fitbit

I was given one of these Fitbit Flex’s last week and I haven’t taken it off since. It tracks your steps, activity levels and even your sleep! There are different versions and they all do different things. I think it’s pretty awesome so far.

For the chef – Maze Cookware Polished Stainless Steel 11-Piece Set by Royal Doulton
Maze Cookware Polished Stainless Steel 11-Piece Set with Bonus

I’m a big fan of Gordon Ramsay and his food – so you can imagine my excitement when I got these babies. Only had the set for a few weeks but I love it already. Good pots and pans are well worth the investment. They DO make a difference in your cooking and if you take proper care of them, they’ll last a long time.

Those are all my ideas for now! I’m sure I’ll think of some more. Hopefully I helped give you some ideas if you’re stuck! What is on your wish list this Christmas?
